Virginia’s son

Lew Sid is a hip-hop artist/songwriter born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia whose music balances sharp lyricism, emotional depth, and undeniable stage presence. More than a rapper, he is a storyteller and motivator, using his art to remind listeners of their value and to celebrate victories both big and small, and remaining true to themselves.

His latest album, ‘The Art of Perseverance’, is his boldest statement yet. Anchored by the viral anthem “Fried Rice”, “Dojo”, and the inspirational single “I Just Want You To Know”, this project embodies themes of undying persistence, recognition, and gratitude. With production led by Multi-Platinum producer Nico Baran, the album builds on Lew Sid’s signature storytelling, pairing it with anthemic hooks and powerful performances.

Lew Sid first captured worldwide attention with his single “Fried Rice” in viral dance battle videos via TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The momentum helped the track rack up over 15 million streams globally, and nearly half a billion views on social media content featuring the record and counting. That virality cemented Lew Sid as a rising force in hip-hop, with a digital presence that translates seamlessly into live performances.

On stage, Lew Sid brings the same energy that drives his music. He has opened for hip-hop icons like Rick Ross, T.I., and Busta Rhymes, and in January 2025, he delivered two original verses in a packed-house performance at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. during a Martin Luther King Jr. tribute show, that featured Chris Jackson (Hamilton), Esperanza Spalding, Taye Diggs, and more. That moment underscored both his artistry and his ability to bring hip-hop into cultural spaces of prestige.

Beyond the numbers, what makes Lew Sid’s artistry stand out is his consistency and vision. His visuals often tie into themes of empowerment, while his merch and branding reinforce his core message of recognition, perseverance, and love.

With ‘The Art of Perseverance’, Lew Sid steps confidently into his next chapter. The album is both a reflection of his journey and a declaration of what’s to come: timeless hip-hop that celebrates the grind, honors the overlooked, and uplifts listeners around the world.
